Volunteer Training Programme BWC relies almost entirely on the commitment and dedication of volunteers who offer their time and expertise to support the centre and the women who use it.
We offer volunteers an induction and training programme. Our in-house training programme runs twice a year and covers areas including; an Introduction to BWC, professionalism, boundaries and confidentiality, Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, Listening Skills.
We also invite organisations to deliver additional training sessions such as Domestic Abuse awareness and Community Legal services. We promote volunteers to access additional training in the community. Training has included; first aid, suicide prevention, mental health first aid, pregnancy testing, C-Card training.
Areas to get involved with BWC include:
- Drop-in support
