Osteopathy with Venetia Powell

I can help ease aches and pains with gentle hands on treatment to restore balance, improve movement and ease pain.

What can I treat?

Joint pain                                           Muscle pain

Sciatica                                               Whiplash

Acute or chronic injuries                Headaches

What are my qualifications?

I qualified as an osteopath at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine with merit in 2013 and have practised in London and Brighton ever since. I have done extra training in cranial osteopathy and am registered with the General Osteopathic Council.

What does a session involve?

During the first appointment I will go through a full case history, questioning you about your current issue and general medical history. This is to gather a good picture of your health and to help me plan how best to treat you. I will then examine you which involves looking at posture and doing a series of movements to see how your body is functioning. Treatment then follows which is usually a variety of working into muscles, gentle mobilisation of joints, exercises and advice. Ideally please wear flexible clothing so I can see how much movement you have.

Holistic Massage Therapy with Ro Santiago

I will use different massage techniques including Clinical Massage, Trigger Point therapy, Acupressure, Myofascial release and cranio-sacral work, power effleurage, stretching and heat.

Clinical massage is rooted deeply in Quantum physics; in the deep understanding of the human condition as an energy entity in constant movement and interaction, being affected and affecting everything around as a wave in the ocean. It embraces the person as a whole, mind, body and soul and is aware of these parts interacting and affecting each other constantly, being the mind (suffering) and not genetics the ultimate root cause of chronic physical illness and it’s opposite “love” the ultimate cause of health. Here is where science and spirit meet.

How will we work?

We will start with a consultation (medical history, established beliefs about pain and illness, actual health condition, feelings towards pain, expectations from the treatment, physical activity and stress levels, expectations from the treatment).

Treatment.

  • You will keep your clothes on at all times.
  • I’ll ask for your consent and explain every move properly before I do it.
  • You decide if there is any part of your body you don’t want me to touch.
  • You decide if you want me to stop at any time.
  • This is a pain free massage.

You’ll be provided with after-care advice. The client’s commitment to following the therapist’s advice on after-care is as important as the massage session itself.

What is it good for?

Treatment of anxiety and depression, low energy levels, stiff neck, headaches, poor mobility, shoulder and neck pain, Chronic health conditions, sleeping problems, stress.
