We are so grateful that we were successful in our pitch at Brighton Soup and raised £383 towards a new computer for our drop in space. Thanks so much to everyone who came along and voted for us.
We are pitching at Brighton Soup!
Have you heard of the global SOUP phenomenon? It’s like Dragon’s Den for community activists and we are thrilled to have been selected to take part in the next Brighton Soup event on Friday, 29th September at St. Lukes, Prestonville.
At Brighton Women’s Centre we run two weekly peer support drop-in groups. Women from all backgrounds come to meet, get support, to reduce isolation and access essential resources.
Our drop in groups are part of a package of wrap around support that BWC provides for women across Sussex.
For many of the women who use our services it is important to be able to access a computer, as they may have limited access to technology at home.
We currently have two computers available for women to use, but they are old and prohibitively slow, meaning we can support fewer women in each session.
If we are successful in our Brighton Soup pitch the money we receive will go directly to help us upgrade our IT facilities at Brighton Women’s Centre. With £500 we could afford to buy a new high quality, fully equipped desktop PC.
Come along on Friday, 29th September at 6pm to hear us pitch, eat some soup, have some fun and vote for BWC!
