Creative Movement with Sasha Watson
‘Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain’, Greene
Weekly drop-in class: Mondays 11am – 12pm, 22 Richmond Place.
About the class:
This class invites you to come exactly as you are. It will be a safe, supportive, nurturing space where you will be gently guided to connect with your body and your breath through movement.
The first part of the class will involve some gentle breathing exercises and meditation to calm the nervous system and bring you into the present moment. Then we’ll do a relaxed body warm-up to stretch and wake-up the body. In the second part of the class I’ll play music and the invitation will be to move together in the space. Sometimes I’ll bring scarves or various other items (I have a parachute!) for us to ‘play’ with and to help us explore moving in different ways. The class will finish with some guided relaxation time so you leave feeling rested and rejuvenated.
All women are welcome, this class will be very gentle and will invite you to only move as much or as little as you want to. Dance is a great way to release pent up emotions and feelings. Instead of talking about it we can simply dance it out. You will always be encouraged to go at your own pace and only do what you feel comfortable with. No prior movement experience is necessary. We would really love to see you there.

About the Group Leader:
“I am a qualified yoga teacher and a registered dance movement therapist – with a commitment to helping women feel more empowered and at home in themselves by sharing what I have discovered in my own life which is quite simply when I am kind to myself and listen to what my body needs in any given moment, whether that be to slow down and rest, or to move and shake out the difficult feelings and emotions I am a happier person who feels more able to deal with life.”
You will be asked to pay a small donation for each session based on your income. This money goes back into the Centre and helps us to cover basic running costs.
